During Carol and Pat's second weekend here we went to the Ardennes, a hilly, rural area of Belgium that is French-speaking. The goal was to hike, tour some small towns, and enjoy the fall colors. The first stop was Coo. The fall colors were beautiful, if patchy. It seems that there has been a good deal of forestry in the area and the deciduous trees were planted back in stripes or patches. It made for some unique scenery.

We took a hike with Eliot in the backpack. Eliot is nearly 26 pounds, so carrying him for long distances is not as easy as it once was! Grandpa Pat took a turn and he and Eliot had fun hiking through the forest.

A river I'd love to kayak/canoe on in warmer weather.

Behind us are the waterfalls that draw people to Coo.
