Kinderdijk, Netherlands

Just outside Rotterdam is this small ultra-Dutch (so dubbed by me because of all the windmills) town called Kinderdijk. Now the town relies on more modern methods to keep water from their fields but once upon a time the multitude of windmills did. We lucked out and saw a rainbow without getting rained on (too much).
Eliot liked the windmills. He has actually become a big fan of modern windmills and makes a circle motion with his pointer fingers when he sees them. So now we point them out as we drive along with cows, horses, sheep, etc. He was somewhat distracted during the visit because we could hear cows mooing in a nearby field. He kept saying, "Moo!" to let us know we had to say hello to the cows before we left, which we did.
The stormy clouds actually made a nice background for photos.
Some of the windmills are inhabited. How neat would that be?

You guys will have to drive down Hwy 41/63 on the border of IL and IN when you get back (I see them on my way to Newport). There is a huge windfield along that road now. The second biggest in the nation, apparently. Over 200 windmills up and more going up in the farm fields. Its really cool and I'm sure Eliot will love it! Great pictures!!
