On Sunday, we visited a garden store/farm in Brussels. It amazes me how much green space (and actual farming) is within the city limits of Brussels. Each animal would run to the fence as we walked through the farm - later we learned from observing other families that most visitors feed the critters. I will post some video later that better depicts the animals' enthusiasm for visitors and Eliot's amusement at it.

This looked like a scene from Bethlehem to me.

Very, very enthusiastic piggies. A family donated some bread to Eliot and then commented on how fearlessly he fed the squealing and grunting piglets. Then I saw the signs requesting that visitors not feed the animals bread, but vegetables. Next time, I guess.

Here is a photo we took on a walk later that evening. Eliot still loves to search for, pick up, and carry (sometimes rather large) sticks. As we were on this walk we came across a mom with three boys. The two eldest were also carrying sticks. They were a fair bit older than Eliot so I could tell the stick fascination is going to go on for a while.
