Chris's birthday

Saturday, November 29 was Chris's birthday. Eliot and Chris posed for this photo since they matched so well. We spent the day shopping and opening some gifts. Then, Eliot's new babysitter came over to watch Eliot while Chris and I went to an area of Brussels, the Sablon, that was having Christmas festivities.

It was a really fun night. We walked around the Sablon area which is very quaint and looked in windows for galleries and antique stores and chocolate shops. There were horsedrawn carriage rides and a photo exhibition about Europe and the EU. We got hungry and had dinner at a great place that served local food in a very yummy way! I learned the French word for pesto - pistou.

The grand finale was a lights show in the Grand Place - cool music, cool lights on the old buildings surrounding the square, and cool lights dancing on silver posts. It was one of our most magical times during this half year.

Eliot had a good time with his babysitter who is very nice and really great with him!
